Mid-February is often a good time to find snow in Yosemite Valley, but not this year. We had a great snowy stay in the Valley in 2016, so we reserved a hotel room early for another winter weekend visit. This time the weather turned out to be more like Spring, so we had a different sort of trip. The bad news: no snow. The good news: 4-mile trail was open, so we hoofed it up there on Friday, straight out of the car. We found a spot with a sunset view and spent the last part of the day watching the light change.
We spent Saturday wandering in the Valley (Mirror Lake & lunch at the Ahwahnee), and had a nice walk up the South Fork of the Merced on the way home Sunday. Good weekend.
